Plough Bicester
12 December 2015
The plough is looking all new and pristine. It has had a
face lift. So the thinking is new management and hopefully a place to go and
have a great eating experience. With that in mind come Sunday it was an obvious
choice to go and give it a try.
The parking is a bonus . It makes for a good start to hopefully a relaxing meal.
On entering the pub, we found our way to the restaurant and
found a table in a quiet corner. A friendly waiter (Shaun) advised us that they only do roast on a Sunday. As that is what we wanted it was an easy one beef roast and one chicken.
We did not wait long and the meal was brought to the
table. It looked perfect, the beef was
cooked just right. It tasted amazing the meat was so tender and real vegetables,
does your heart not just sink when a plate of frozen peas cauliflower and
broccoli is placed before you?? Rather fresh baby carrots, parsnips shredded cabbage
and beans. Now gravy is so important, it was sent out in a self-serve bowl.
Allowing you the choice of how much you want to use. The only down side to the
meal was the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and only the bit at the bottom was edible
When Shaun came to clear the table we had a chat about the pub
and the food, he told us he has had lunch at the pub and he orders a burger, and that it
smells that good he could hardly wait for it to be ready. He said his mouth was
literary watering in anticipation of the meal
Shaun suggested the bread pudding he said the chef was
becoming quite famous for the custard he makes. And again a personal favourite. We ordered
one to share and we waited and waited and waited, when it finally arrived at
the table, it was a good as Shaun had said it was smooth and tasted creamy.
Another visit is on the cards to try the mouth watering burger
